Shockwave NME Music Awards - 2008
The NME Music Awards are voted for by readers of the music journal and have been handed out since the
early 1950's. In 2008, Arctic Monkeys were the clear winners with three seperate awards: Best British
Band, Best Track & Best Video. The Godlike Genius Award went
to Manic Street Preachers.

2008 NME Music Awards - Best British Band
In 2008, the Best British Band Award was awarded to Arctic Monkeys. Their latest album - Favourite Worst Nightmare - also provided
tracks that won two further awards. Fluorescent Adolescent won
Best Track while the video for Teddy Picker
picked up the Best Video Award.
