2008 Mercury Music Prize
The Mercury Music Prize is a fantastic way to choose cd albums as gifts. Once again the twelve shortlisted albums represent a wide range of musical genres - from pop and rock to folk and jazz. The shortlist of 12 albums was announced in July and the overall winner for 2008 - The Seldom Seen Kid by Elbow - was announced in September.
The
2007 Mercury Music Prize was won by Myths of the Near Future by
UK band, Klaxons. Among others they beat
Amy Winehouse and
Arctic Monkeys.
