Society of Authors Prizes - 2008

The Society of Authors have been looking after the interests of authors for over 100 years. And to encourage up-and-coming writers, prizes are awarded to fine works by those less established. Its a great way to buy books (and pick presents!) by authors you might not have come across before.

Winner - Betty Trask Prize, 2008

For a first novel by a writer under 35. The winning author - David Szalay - won a prize of £10000, which interestingly MUST be used for foreign travel!
