National Book Awards - 2007


Denis Johnson received the 2007 American National Book Award for Fiction for his novel, Tree of Smoke. This work, set in the Vietnam war, was his first full length novel in nine years. The awards, which are only open to United States citizens, were also awarded in three other categories: Non-Fiction, Young People's Literature, and Poetry.
