Carnegie Medal - 2008
For more than seventy years the Carnegie Medal has been awarded for outstanding children's books in the UK. It is judged by professional librarians and is equivalent to the Newbery medal in the USA. This year, the Carnegie Medal was won by Philip Reeve's re-telling of the Arthurian legend, "Here Lies Arthur".
The 2007 Carnegie Medal was won by Meg Rosoff for "Just In Case" ...and she made it onto the shortlist again in 2008 with "What I Was".
