Arthur C. Clarke Award - 2008
The Arthur C. Clarke Award was started in 1987 by a donation of £1000 from the author himself. This was later increased
to £2001 to match his most famous novel to date - 2001:
A Space Odyssey. The Award is given to outstanding science fiction, first published in the UK in the previous year. This year's
shortlist consists of six books, all by UK-based authors. The winner will be announced on April 10th.
